 26/01/2010

Castaway Goole, a performing arts charity that works with people with disabilities, has received a grant of £30,000 from the Lloyds TSB Foundation from its Community Programme.

The charity, based at the Yorkshire Waterways Museum in Goole, works with adults and young people with a disability by providing opportunities to participate in music theatre groups and take part in the twice yearly productions performed at Junction Theatre in Goole, and to take part in dance, music, acting and stage sound and light workshops, learning a wide range of skills with professional artists.

The grant will meet the costs of a new Director of Strategic Development for a two year period to support the charity through its next stage of development and to expand activities.

Jo Glover, the Co-Director for Castaway Goole said,

“The grant from Lloyds TSB Foundation will provide an excellent opportunity to provide a greater range of activities for more people and plan for the future.”
