A charity that rehabilitates alcoholics has received vital funding from the Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales.
Based in Stockport Cirtek Alcohol Service User Group (CASU) provides support to adults with alcohol problems and their families. The charity runs a weekly support group, a mentoring system to help people through rehabilitation and offers advice on issues such as housing and benefits. In addition, it runs recreational activities such as camping trips, walking excursions and gardening sessions.
CASU supports between 25-50 people each month. The £14,300 grant will contribute towards the core costs involved in running the weekly support groups over the next three years.
Colin Edge, Business Advisor and Trustee, CASU, said:
“Thanks to this funding from the Lloyds TSB Foundation we can continue to provide a constant source of support for people going through rehabilitation, a process that can often last a number of years.”
