What the Foundation supports

What do you fund?

We fund small and medium local and national charities organisations whose beneficiaries live in England and Wales and that help disadvantaged people to play a fuller role in the community and provide both project and core funding (running costs). Our Guidelines fully explain what we do and don’t fund. These are available:

here in both PDF and Word format
- or you can request a copy by sending us an e-mail – please include your name and address
- or by calling 0870 411 1223

The guidelines are also available in large print on this website and you can request an audio version.

Do you support core funding?

Yes - by core funding we mean the basic everyday running costs which might be salaries, administrative costs, rent, bills or other expenses. We are happy to consider applications for all these and similar costs. Approximately 70% of our funding goes to 'core costs'.

Do you match fund?

We don't ‘match’ funds raised but we are happy to consider applications which ask us to contribute to a project as one of a number of funders. Please contact your local Grant Manager to discuss this (see Contact us).

I’m not sure how much money to ask for or whether to ask for funding for more than one year?

If you complete our eligibility questionnaire and are eligible to apply, your local Grant Manager will advise you on how much it is appropriate to apply for and if your work is suitable for two or three year funding.  For more information on this or any other question please get in touch with your local Grant (see Contact us).

Will you sponsor our golf day/magazine/concert etc?

We do not provide sponsorship – we support charities’ work to help disadvantaged people to play a fuller role in the community.
