Professor Ian Diamond
Foundation Chair and Trustee since July 2009, Professor Ian Diamond has recently been appointed to the post of Vice Chancellor for the University of Aberdeen and was previously Chief Executive of the Economic and Social Research Council. He brings a wealth of experience in the educational, funding and voluntary sectors. A social statistician, Ian Diamond's work has crossed many disciplinary boundaries, most notably working in the area of population but also in health and working with local authorities. He is currently Chair of the Executive Group of Research Councils UK and a trustee for the National Cancer Research Institute and the World Wildlife Fund.
Janet Bibby
Trustee since January 2008. She is currently Chief Executive of the Coalfields Regeneration Trust focusing on the social and economic regeneration of coalfield communities in deprived areas of England, Wales and Scotland. She has extensive experience within the not-for-profit sector including grant-making and strategic investment in key regeneration issues.
Professor Clair Chilvers DSc DL
Trustee since January 2005, Professor Chilvers is Chair of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust and is a Deputy Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire. She was previously Director of the Department of Health Research and Development Portfolio in Mental Health and Research Director for the National Institute for Mental Health in England. Formerly Dean of the Graduate School at Nottingham University and the Chair of Southwell Cathedral Council. In 2008, she set up a new charity with colleagues, Mental Health Research UK, which will fund research into the causes of and cures for mental illness
Rob Devey
Trustee since July 2009, Rob is the Chief Executive of Prudential UK Europe and Asia and previously held senior executive roles at Lloyds Banking Group, HBOS and General Insurance. Prior to joining HBOS, Rob was a strategy consultant for the Boston Consulting Group, living and working in the UK, USA and Europe.
Rob started his career in building design with Ove Arup following completion of his Engineering degree at Emmanuel College, Cambridge.
Pavita Cooper
Trustee since April 2009, Pavita joined Lloyds TSB in January 2008. In January 2009 she was appointed HR Director Organisation Effectiveness for Lloyds Banking Group. Pavita has over 20 years experience building leadership and organisation capability within a wide range of blue chip companies including BAA, Shell and Barclays. Pavita is an executive coach; particularly committed to supporting the development of leaders from diverse backgrounds. She is a fellow of the Oxford Leadership Academy.
John Hughes
Trustee since January 2005, John is the former Director of Finance for London Transport and London Underground and prior to that, held senior positions in the Prudential Corporation, British Aerospace and Airbus Industrie. He is Honorary Treasurer of the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts, a Council Member of the National Trust, a Trustee of the Samaritans in Herts./Essex and a Board Member for Biffaward.
Alan Leaman OBE
Trustee since January 2008, Alan has had a varied career in communications, politics and public affairs, working within the voluntary and charitable sectors, local government and the private sector. He was chief adviser to Paddy Ashdown, leader of the Liberal Democrats and previously Director of Corporate Affairs for the Association of British Insurers. Alan is currently Chief Executive of the Management Consultancies Association.
Anne Parker CBE
Trustee since January 2005, Anne is the former Director of Social Services, Berkshire and currently Vice Chair of the Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, as well as a member of the board of English Churches Housing Association and a member of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Appeals Panel. She recently retired as Chair of the Audit Commission Complaints Panel and is former Chair of the National Care Standards Commission and of Carers UK, the national charity for carers.
Rosemary Stevenson
Trustee since July 2008, Rosemary is an independent consultant who has extensive international development experience, having worked in a number of departments in the Department for International Development. She represented the UK on the board of the World Bank for four years until 2004.
