Professor Sir Ian Diamond

 Foundation Chair and Trustee since July 2009, Professor Ian Diamond is also Principal and Vice Chancellor for the University of Aberdeen and was previously Chief Executive of the Economic and Social Research Council.  He brings a wealth of experience in the educational, funding and voluntary sectors. A social statistician, Ian Diamond's work has crossed many disciplinary boundaries, most notably working in the area of population but also in health and working with local authorities. He is currently a trustee for the National Centre for Social Research, the Population Investigation Committee and the World Wildlife Fund.

Janet Bibby

Trustee since January 2008. She is currently Regional Director for Yorkshire and the North East at the National Trust. Janet has extensive experience within the not-for-profit sector including grant-making and strategic investment in key regeneration issues. 

Rob Devey

Trustee since July 2009, Rob is the Chief Executive of Prudential UK Europe and Asia and previously held senior executive roles at Lloyds Banking Group, HBOS and General Insurance. Prior to joining HBOS, Rob was a strategy consultant for the Boston Consulting Group, living and working in the UK, USA and Europe. 

Rob started his career in building design with Ove Arup following completion of his Engineering degree at Emmanuel College, Cambridge.  

Pavita Cooper

Trustee since April 2009, Pavita is Founder of Talent Conversations, an international consultancy advising large corporate and senior executives on leadership, talent and diversity. 

Alan Leaman OBE

Trustee since January 2008, Alan has had a varied career in communications, politics and public affairs, working within the voluntary and charitable sectors, local government and the private sector. He was chief adviser to Paddy Ashdown, leader of the Liberal Democrats and previously Director of Corporate Affairs for the Association of British Insurers. Alan is currently Chief Executive of the Management Consultancies Association.

Philip Grant

Trustee since June 2010, Philip is Managing Director of UK Wealth at Lloyds Banking Group. Prior to this he has held various senior positions in the Bank of Scotland and latterly HBOS plc. Philip is President of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland and holds an MBA from the Strathclyde Graduate Business School.

Mohammad Naeem

Trustee since June 2010, Naeem is a diversity and race relations specialist with extensive experience at executive and consultative level in policy development and implementation across public, private and voluntary sector organisations.

Lord Sandy Leitch

Trustee since January 2011, Lord Sandy Leitch was previously Deputy Chairman of Lloyds Banking Group.  During his time at Zurich Financial Services, he led one of the UK’s leading corporate charities.  He was Chairman of the UK Cares (and remains life Vice President), SANE (Schizophrenia), the Balance Foundation and Deputy Chair of the Commonwealth Fund.  He currently chairs the fundraising programme for the National Portrait Gallery of Scotland and is Vice President of the National Star College.  He was Deputy Chair at Business In The Community and Chairman of the National Employment Panel.  He has recently been appointed as Chairman of a new charity, Medical Aid Films, aimed at improving infant and maternal mortality in developing nations.  For his outstanding charity work he received the Prince of Wales Ambassador award in 1999.

Sir Clive Booth

Trustee since January 2011, Sir Clive Booth was vice chancellor of Oxford Brookes University until 1997. Since then he has pursued a portfolio career spanning a number of interests in education and the public sector. His most recent role has been as Chair of the Big Lottery Fund. He continues to advise a number of educational institutions and government bodies and is a volunteer working with charities involved in civic society and the environment.

Dame Denise Platt

Trustee since January 2011, Dame Denise Platt was formerly the Chair of the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) having previously been Chief Inspector of the Social Services Inspectorate and Head of Social Care Policy at the Department of Health. Denise is also on a variety of boards both in the voluntary sector and public sector, including the National AIDS trust, of which she is Chair, NSPCC, the University of Bedfordshire and the Committee on Standards in Public Life.

Professor Patricia Broadfoot CBE

Trustee from May 1 2011, Patricia was formerly Vice Chancellor of the University of Gloucestershire having previously been Senior Pro-Vice chancellor of Bristol University. Throughout her career as an Educationist, Patricia has worked  for greater social justice and most recently, as a Commissioner on the Marmot Commission on Health Inequalities. Patricia has extensive expertise in research and analysis and currently chairs the Governing Board of ‘Understanding Society’ – the largest longitudinal social survey ever undertaken in the world for the Economic and Social Research Council. She has considerable experience as a Trustee with over eight years spent with the Bristol care trust, St Monica’s, working both to support people in various levels of shared housing and in the community. Patricia is currently Professor of Education at the University of Bristol.

Helen Edwards CB CBE

Trustee since December 2012, Helen is the Director General of the Ministry of Justice's (MoJ) Policy Group. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience within the criminal justice system having also previously held the position of Director General of Criminal Justice at the MoJ.

She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts since 1997, and a Trustee of the Washington based Eisenhower Foundation since 2000.
