How many grants did the Foundation make in 2008?

 In 2008 the Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales made £23.7 million worth of grants to 665 charities.

What areas of disadvantage has the Foundation funded in 2008?

In 2008 we made grants of £19.2 million through our main community programme to support the core work of 636 small and medium charities to tackle issues in over twenty ‘areas’ of disadvantage. The top five areas were:

What types of funding does the Foundation provide?

Through our feedback process, we have identified the need to support charities’ core running costs over a longer time period. In 2008, 73% of all funding from the community programme was for core running costs.

 

  • The average Community programme grant size in 2008 was £30,000
  • 94% of grants from the Community programme were for more than one year
  • 42% of grants from the Community programme were for more than one year

 

What size of charities do we support?

The Community programme specifically supports smaller local, regional and national charities. During 2008 we targeted 49% of funding to charities with an annual income of under £100,000 and 70% to those with an income below £250,000.
